Title : Formulation Lab Technician - Personal Care
Location : Tarrytown, NY
Duration : 12 months’
Pay rate : $24 / hr.
Worker Schedule : Monday - Friday hours / 8 hours per day / week
Personal Care
Responsibilities
- Formulation of all types of Hair, Skin & Sun Care products including but not limited to gels, creams, lotions, serums, beach products, sticks, sprays and balms.
- Understanding of emulsion, polymers and surfactant technology, and general cosmetic technology as well as formulation techniques.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures. Specifically pH meter, Brookfield Viscometer, stand mixers, and Silverson homogenizers Perform and track prototype stability and compatibility.
- Maintain, organize and order lab supplies / raw materials as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical engineering or related field with 0-1 years of formulation experience.
- Or be currently enrolled in a matriculated program geared towards a four-year science degree.
- Be able to follow a set formula and procedure provided by senior chemists to create finished formulations.
- Must have good problem solving, decision making, and organization skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to maintain a laboratory notebook, as a professional legal document.?
- Be able to lift 50 lbs, and work at bench for 8 hours per day
Additional Description
- Entry level experience is fine.
- Bench lab technician work. Will work alongside Sr. Chemists.
- BS degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field required.
