Job Summary :
- The 40 hr per week 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm Monday through Friday position performs assigned responsibilities as a medical assistant and related areas under the direction of the owner, clinical manager and designee trainers.
- This position is integral to the department’s and practice’s performance.
- Typically assigned responsibilities may be assigned or some of the listed responsibilities may be assigned to other departmental members, depending on the clinical managers evaluation of work flow needs.
- This position regularly uses EMR (ECW), and may use MS Outlook, Word and Excel products.
- The position has primary direct and secondary phone communication with patients, patient family members, provider offices, vendors, and others.
- This position requires understanding of Privacy and Confidentiality rules and regulations, including HIPAA.

- Experience and familiarity in a medical office
- Prior experience with electronic medical records is preferred, as is familiarity with Microsoft products
- Education should consist of a minimum of a high school graduation and post related medical office assistant experience
- Certified Medical Assistant experience in Women’s Health
- This position requires frequent shifts between sitting, standing, walking, and occasional sustained periods of each.
- Strong focus on high quality, patient friendly customer service.
- Patient sensitivity while enduring good productivity and multi-tasking is important.
- Excellent oral communication skills are required.
- Respecting confidentiality and privacy is critical to this position.
- The department setting required a fast paced team environment and includes mobility throughout the office.
- Each position in the department must be able to support each other in times of absences and workload variances.
- Supportive and positive behaviors are required.
Physical Requirements :
- The ability to be easily mobile throughout the office throughout the day, as well as to sit at a desk and computer for sustained periods of time on a regular basis.
- Requires frequent bending, lifting, stooping, and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs periodically.
Potential Work Hazard :
- The operation of electrical equipment.
- Potential exposure to electronic equipment and emissions.
- Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Potential contact with unhappy and / or combative patients.
- Potential exposure to biological hazards and patients with infectious diseases.
