A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Utility Technician position is responsible for performing day to day inspections of components in the LDAR Program when required.

The day-to-day responsibilities will be to perform re-inspections, perform simple repairs, and perform special inspection upon request.

The following list of duties are the responsibility of the Utility Technician.

• Participate and be engaged in the safety culture
• Complete comprehensive Job Safety Analysis at their jobsite
• Maintain and use all required PPE
• Perform and document calibration and drift check of monitoring instrument as required
• Perform and document calibration-precision test and response time test as required
• Receive inspection requirements from Project Manager(s) and ensure information is accurate
• Comply with all permit and sign in procedures for the site
• Perform and document routine field inspections when required routine inspections accurately, safely and efficiently
• Document leak tag completely for all leaks found and or re-inspected
• Document and report any tag maintenance issues found in the field
• Perform and document drift assessments when required on instruments
• Ensure job site is clean and free of any materials
• Perform field inspections of additional LDAR services when required
• Perform re-inspections and special non-routine inspections when requested
• Assist field technicians with field issues when requested
• Perform simple maintenance on components
• Participate in training for career development, safety and maintaining required certifications
• Perform any other duties assigned by client or project manager(s)

Education Requirements (Qualifications section) :

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Intermediate knowledge in LDAR related hardware and tools
• Intermediate knowledge in applicable Federal, State and Local LDAR regulations
• Novice knowledge in repairs

Years of Experience (Qualifications section)

1+ years minimum of LDAR experience

Systems (Qualifications section)

• Experience with Workday is a plus
• Novice experience with LDAR database software programs is required

Licensures / Training Requirements (Qualifications section)

• Valid Driver's License is required
• Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is beneficial
• State / Region applicable Safety Council Training is beneficial
• Refinery Safety Overview (RSO) training is beneficial
• Man lift Certified is beneficial
• First Aid and CPR Certified is beneficial

Safety / Drug Screening (Qualifications section)

• Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
• Must be able to successfully pass a urine, alcohol, and hair drug test
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work from heights
• Ability to pass an OSHA Respiratory Protection Medical Evaluation, and don respiratory equipment

Travel (Qualifications section)

Ability / willingness to travel locally and overnight 75-100% of the time

• Excellent organizational, communication, time management and leadership skills
• Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Able to work independently, managing multiple responsibilities (i.e., self-starter, self-motivated)

• Ability to diagnose and recommend repair solutions
