Controller
Job Summary :
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the company. This includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, managing the company's financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Controller will play a crucial role in guiding the financial strategy of the company, contributing to the achievement of business objectives, and maintaining effective internal controls within the fast-paced food processing environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Controller :
- Budgeting & Forecasting :
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparation, consolidation, and analysis of departmental budgets.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts, including cash flow projections, and update them as needed.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Cost Management :
- Monitor and control costs across the organization, particularly in production, raw materials, and labor.
- Collaborate with operations to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure accurate costing of products and support pricing decisions.
- Cash Management :
- Oversee cash flow management, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.
- Ensure efficient use of capital, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
- Tax Reporting & Compliance :
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting, including federal, state, and local taxes.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and stay updated on changes in tax laws that impact the company.
- Software Conversion :
- Lead and manage the conversion of financial software systems, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to operations.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure successful implementation and integration of new systems.
Qualifications for the Controller :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems, with experience in financial modules and reporting tools.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
