This position is responsible for performing general grounds keeping and other duties necessary to maintain the appearance of the Jackson campus.

Maintain grounds in summer : mow and fertilize lawns; plant grass, irrigation, spraying of weeds, and fertilize trees and shrubs;
remove weeds and brush using power equipment, and so forth.
- Maintain grounds in winter : remove snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks, using shovels, salt and sand, and related equipment or products.
- Perform other seasonal grounds work : rake leaves, sweep sand, put protective coverings over shrubs, etc.
- Perform pesticide and weed control application, control and reporting requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment used in grounds work.
- Pick up trash around buildings and empty trashcans. Maintain clear sidewalks. Operate a leaf blower on walkways and around buildings.
- Assist with basic construction tasks related to grounds maintenance (planting beds, cement work, fence and sign installation, etc.).
- Water plants and flowerbeds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Job Duties Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in grounds keeping.
