Vaco is looking for a dedicated Payroll Processor to join . As a Payroll Processor, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll for our employees, maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, and providing exceptional support and service to our staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Payroll Processing : Execute payroll cycles on a bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly basis, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Data Entry : Accurately enter and update employee information in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, changes in compensation, and deductions.
- Compliance : Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations, staying updated on any legislative changes.
- Deductions and Adjustments : Calculate and process all payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
- Record Keeping : Maintain detailed and accurate payroll records, preparing and submitting necessary reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Employee Support : Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, discrepancies, and provide clear explanations and resolutions.
- Auditing : Assist in regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- System Management : Work with HR and IT departments to ensure the payroll system is functioning properly and update software as necessary.
- Reporting : Generate and distribute payroll reports and summaries as required by management.
Requirements :
- Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Technical Skills : Proficiency with payroll software (, ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge : Understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
- Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Confidentiality : Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees and management.
- Problem-Solving : Good analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve payroll issues.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification : Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.
- Experience : Previous experience in a multi-state payroll environment.
- Technical Skills : Experience with advanced payroll functions and integration with HRIS systems.
