Position Summary & Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for writing grants or leading grant projects management (i.e. Equipment Assistance Grants, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Audit Grants, Farm to Plate) and procurement of Food Service Management Company (FMSC) contracts.
KSDE is required to ensure that participating sponsors entering into contracts with FMSCs comply with state and federal cost and procurement standards and applicable federal regulations.
This position also tracks expenditures for all Child Nutrition and Wellness (CNW) funding codes and assists the CNW Director with the submission of quarterly and annual federal reports as needed.
The Public Service Executive supports the work conducted by the CNW team to increase access and assure that local Child Nutrition Program (CNP)s operate with integrity while providing high quality nutrition and wellness programs for Kansas children.

Required Minimum Qualifications :
- One year of experience in planning, implementing and monitoring activities relevant to the agency’s programs. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, dietetics or other degree relevant to work conducted by CNW.
Preferred Skills and / or Qualifications :
Expertise in contracts and procurement; and
Ability to work in a team environment and function as a contributing team member.
Preferred Experience :
Experience in school food service administration.
