We are seeking an experienced? Structural / Civil Engineer, PE? to provide full-time, on-site support as part of the Defense Health Agency Headquarters' Engineering Operations team in San Antonio, TX.
This role involves cradle to grave management of construction projects, building envelop repair and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities :
- Development of performance work statements
- Development of accurate current working estimates for construction projects
- Serve as Technical Representative, overseeing project scope, schedule, budget, cost, safety, resources, quality, risk management from project inception to facility activation.
- Performing Quality Assurance and Safety compliance visits
- Performing design and submittal reviews
- Understand and apply Life Safety design codes and industry standards.?
- Evaluate proposed projects and technical solutions based on need, code compliance, effectiveness, and life cycle cost.?
- Travel to sites for inspections, evaluate maintenance procedures, and confirm operational practices.??
Requirements :
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Structural Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline or minimum of 15 years demonstrated experience in roofing systems, medical healthcare facility design, and construction management.
- Demonstrated minimum of ten (10) years practical experience in Project Management. Practical experience is defined as having experience with technical expertise, design, alteration, maintenance, and modernization of major building envelope systems A portion of this practical experience must be recent, within the past six (6) months and span over the preceding three (3) out of the last four (4) years.
- US Citizen with National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Clearance or the ability to obtain said clearance.?
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Expert-level skills and extensive practical experience in all aspects of building structural systems.?
- Strong knowledge of local, municipal, and federal building codes, criteria, and standards.?
- Excellent interpersonal, communicative, diplomatic, and analytical skills for delivering high-quality presentations to executive leadership and large audiences.?
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.?
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.?
