POSITION SUMMARY :
Prepare reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician. Conduct and analyze complex electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity (NCV), or other neurodiagnostic tests.
Adjust equipment and controls according to physicians' orders or established protocol. Obtain and record patient identification, medical history and test results.
At least 1 year of previous experience required. Knowledge of general anatomy and physiology. Medical terminology and general computer skills.
Professional presentation, ability to work with patients and families, physicians, nurses and ancillary staff. Strong organizational skills.
Coordinates all EEG Department activities including LTVM, EMU and EEG Studies. Responsible for professional maintenance of EEG Department.
Manage department to attain maximum productivity with minimum cost. Interface effectively with personnel at a variety of levels.
Able to write and / or revise protocols, job descriptions to meet the needs of the department and / or hospital. Will serve on various hospital Neuro committees as needed.
Will provide in-service as necessary to department and hospital personnel. Able to perform clerical and technical processing duties of the department.
Generate and reconcile patient's charges. Able to perform all non-invasive neurodiagnostic procedures to all ages, adults and pediatric.
Works with customers and identifies problem areas and recommends solutions. Assists in the performance of technical work associated with the diagnosis of neurological diseases and abnormalities.
Communicate with physicians regarding studies to dictate, check for reports, and verify billing.
Licensure / Certification / Education (Required) :
American Red Cross OR American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR (BLS)
Education 1 : High School Graduate / Equivalent
Technical School / 1 Year College
