Asst/Associate Technical Designer Childrens Apparel

Our client has a great opportunity to work for a top apparel company with a focus on technical design with top licensed activewear and apparel brands.

This role is based in midtown and is a hybrid schedule. It would be great if you had 3D Browzwear experience but it is a plus for this role.

Don't have to come out of children's apparel for this role. The Asst / Assoc Technical Designer will work directly with Design and cross-functional teams to execute vision while achieving impeccable fit, construction and design aesthetics working with children's apparel and activewear brands.

Responsibilities : Partner with creative design team to achieve aesthetic while adhering to a production time and action calendarCollaborate with the Technical Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional intent for each product designWork on technical requirements to develop and execute processes from product development to productionCreate and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction / stitching and fit evaluation commentsMeasure and evaluate garments from proto sample through TOP samplesProvide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and styling requirementsIssue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approvalMaintain close partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workloadQualifications :

Knowledge of apparel, construction, sewing techniques, related textiles and trim.Must have technical understanding of body growth and how it applies to fitKnowledge of pattern making, construction, industry fit knowledge and gradingAbility to take detailed and accurate notes during fit sessionsHigh accuracy in math skills for correct spec revisions.

Superior organizational and written communication skillsProficiency in Flex PLM, Adobe products, Microsoft Office and 3D Browzwear (a plus)Ability to work in a fast paced, high performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountabilityExcellent time management skills and effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines
