Job Overview
The Recovery Representative contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience by actively pursuing the recovery and collection of subrogation and / or salvage proceeds.
Compensation : Depends on experience and varies by location.
Colorado Compensation :
- The pay range for this position is $26.27 - $41.37 per hour, depending on experience.
- This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek or more than 12 hours in a workday.
Nevada Compensation :
- The pay range for this position is $27.58 - $41.37 per hour, depending on experience.
- This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
Washington Compensation :
- The pay range for this position is $26.27 - $39.40 per hour, depending on experience.
- This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.
Job Responsibilities
- Determine subrogation / salvage amounts applicable and ensure appropriate reserving
- Identify and pursue avenues of recovery
- Manage the recovery process on claim files in a proactive manner
- Negotiate settlement with insureds, claimants, lawyers, vendors and insurance companies
- Coordinate services with vendors and service providers
- Serve as an intercompany Arbitrator
- Attend legal proceedings in the course of subrogation litigation handling
- Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
- Remain up-to-date with relevant legislative changes and trends in the insurance industry
- Arbitration
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+years insurance liability claims adjusting experience
- Prior arbitration experience is a plus
- Prior material damage and / or property damage experience is a plus
- Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customers
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills
- Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
- Excellent negotiation skills
- College / University degree is preferred
