Recovery Representative (Remote)

Job Overview

The Recovery Representative contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience by actively pursuing the recovery and collection of subrogation and / or salvage proceeds.

Compensation : Depends on experience and varies by location.

Colorado Compensation :

• The pay range for this position is $26.27 - $41.37 per hour, depending on experience.
• This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek or more than 12 hours in a workday.

Nevada Compensation :

• The pay range for this position is $27.58 - $41.37 per hour, depending on experience.
• This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.

Washington Compensation :

• The pay range for this position is $26.27 - $39.40 per hour, depending on experience.
• This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine subrogation / salvage amounts applicable and ensure appropriate reserving
• Identify and pursue avenues of recovery
• Manage the recovery process on claim files in a proactive manner
• Negotiate settlement with insureds, claimants, lawyers, vendors and insurance companies
• Coordinate services with vendors and service providers
• Serve as an intercompany Arbitrator
• Attend legal proceedings in the course of subrogation litigation handling
• Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
• Remain up-to-date with relevant legislative changes and trends in the insurance industry
• Arbitration
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2+years insurance liability claims adjusting experience
• Prior arbitration experience is a plus
• Prior material damage and / or property damage experience is a plus
• Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customers
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent investigative and analytical skills
• Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
• Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
• Excellent negotiation skills
• College / University degree is preferred
