Job Summary
AmSpec is currently seeking an Aboveground Storage Tank Inspection Technician / NDT Technician (Level I or II) for their USA offices.
Experience in an industrial setting is preferred. The successful candidate will be encouraged to expand their skills and certifications through company provided training and mentoring
Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities :
- Set up and utilize nondestructive testing equipment
- Performs or assists in ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspections on aboveground storage tanks
- Fill out daily inspection reports and documentation as required
- Organize and report test results
- Prepares reports and other work-related documents in a timely and accurate manner
- Understands and utilizes safe work practices
- Ensuring strict adherence to industrial safety and health guidelines
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
- May perform specialized inspections
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
- API 653 / API 570 Certification Preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to lift in excess of 75 pounds
- Able to work at heights over 48 feet and in confined spaces with small openings
- Must pass drug screen and background check
- Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers
- Dependable and reliable with strong work ethic
- Have mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- AutoCAD experience a plus
- Ability to follow directions
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional safety and quality work awareness
- TWIC badge or ability to obtain a TWIC badge
- Passport or ability to obtain a passport
- Tank and / or pipeline inspection experience is a plus

Physical Demands and Work Conditions :
- Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and communication
- Moving, carrying, and lifting objects in excess of 75 lbs.
- Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 48 ft.
- Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time
- Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
- Working in and near industrial hazards
- Outside 75% of the time in all elements
- Extensive travel required, occasionally last minute
- Work performed on customers sites
- Work in independent crews of 1 or 2
- Responsible for maintaining equipment
- Work can be on an emergency basis according to customer’s needs
- Shifts can exceed 10 hours a day
- Weekend work may be required
