Job Description :
Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking servers for our restaurant, Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar. The primary role of the server is to ensure each guest has an excellent dining experience.
The server must be attentive to the needs of our guests while making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.
The pay range above lists a base pay plus tips average.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Demonstrate genuine hospitality during every interaction with our guests; including greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, answering questions, thanking guests, and inviting them to return upon their departure.
- Greet all guests warmly, in a timely manner, and with an appropriate greeting.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of recipe execution and culinary techniques.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus, promotions, brand information, and special events.
- Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are maintained throughout all areas at all times.
- Check identification and verify age requirements for all alcoholic beverage purchases.
- Take beverage and food orders from guests according to company standards and input them into the POS system in a timely manner.
- Prepare the following before and during service; tables, napkins, utensils, condiment refills, server stations, and all other preparation tasks as instructed by Front of House Managers or General Manager.
- Be attentive at staffing meetings and remain updated on daily menu changes to both food and bar, specialties, menu deviations, etc.
- Answer guest questions about food and beverage preparation details and communicate specific guest needs to the kitchen and bar.
- Maintain a professional and proper dining experience while delivering items, fulfilling guest service needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses, replacing drinks, and offering desserts.
- Properly conduct tableside wine service per company standards.
- Collect revenues, issue receipts, accept payments and return change per company standards.
- Responsible for properly handling plate ware, glassware, and small wares.
- Communicate ordering necessities to Management.
- Maintain a positive guest experience with effective communication of all guest recovery situations; while documenting such occurrences to the Manager on Duty.
- Record any and all Front of House-related COGS including but not limited to Waste Logs and Cost Transfers.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or instructed by Management
- Assist and support team members, as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as directed by the Bar Manager, Front of House Managers, General Manager, or Corporate Office.
- Responsible for adhering to company Appearance Standards.
- Consistent productivity, following health codes, provide a safe working environment for all staff while maintaining impeccable personal hygiene as well as a high standard of work ethic in the workplace.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous work-related experience required
- Must be a team player and demonstrate organizational skills.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
- Excellent verbal skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
Working conditions :
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is usually indoors, within a controlled environment, and experiences a moderate noise level inside the establishment.
Shifts start at 7am, 10am, 3pm, or 4pm
Doc's houses one of the largest whiskey selections in the country. (2500+) We do tastings a few days a week with distributors or Master Distillers.
We are also going to be doing incentive programs to gain access to free tours. A Bourbon Steward class can also be acquired as your tenure with the company and cross-training grows.
Physical requirements :
- The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly and listen.
- The employee is required to stand, walk, and / or sit to work.
- The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
