POSITION SUMMARY
This position plays a critical role for the ongoing management and administration of the commercial loan origination system.
- Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to : liaison between the Bank and the Vendor for ongoing system management and troubleshooting, collaboration with IT for system integration with other platforms (including the Bank core system and others);
- internal customer support to various departments and users (specifically the Commercial Bank and Credit Administration), ongoing system workflow, enhancements and patches;
basic training for all users of the commercial loan origination platform; and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management (when applicable).
The candidate will also assist the other Commercial Underwriting team members with spreads and cash flows for new and renewal credits as needed (entry-level - Credit Analyst I).
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages day-to-day functions of the Commercial Loan Origination System and its interaction with other complimentary systems to include troubleshooting, upgrades, workflow enhancements;
liaison and communication with the Bank’s IT department and the Vendor; enhancing the Commercial Loan Origination System’s functionality and usability (workflow enhancements, reporting capabilities, integration with other platforms, upgrades, etc.).
Ownership and ongoing enhancements of the commercial loan origination system user guide and manual, which summarizes the full use of the loan origination system and various workflows, inclusive but not limited to the loan underwriting system, tickler management, covenant testing, annual reviews, approval process, compliance reporting (HMDA and CRA), various management reports, etc.
Continual update for standard operating procedures, but especially when the system is upgraded.
- As the subject matter expert of the Commercial Loan Origination System, conduct ongoing training for existing users, and training of new hires for the various departments working in the platform, as needed.
- Develops and maintains reports available from the Commercial Loan Origination System for both the Commercial Bank and Credit Administration (i.
e. loan approvals, pipelines, exceptions, policy overrides, HMDA, CRA, etc.). Said reports will be utilized by various department heads and Management.
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Commercial Loan Approval form.
- Entry level spreads and cash flow preparation for new and renewal credits, and assist with smaller underwriting requests as needed depending on workflow requirements within the department.
- Perform other duties, inclusive of special projects, as warranted.

SKILLS AND TRAINING
- Strong credit underwriting and risk analysis skills to relate to commercial loan origination and portfolio management process.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to highlight and mitigate risks.
- Ability to proactively offer solutions that enhance existing systems for loan approvals and credit administration.
- Ability to identify issues with the underwriting / approval system and work through solutions to resolve them.
- Advanced IT literacy, including troubleshooting, system design and solution implementation, report design and production, database mining and interpretation of data and results.
- Excellent interpersonal, team and communication skills (written and oral). Will be interacting with all levels of Bank staff, including senior management.
- Ability to work independently with oversight.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Business Administration.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking or financial services industry, with some exposure to Credit Underwriting, Risk Management or Management Information Systems.
