Summary of Position

The Photo Production Specialist is responsible for the procurement, organization and management of digital photography and marketing assets for Starz Originals productions, for use in content distribution and promotion in multiple media and marketing channels.

The incumbent will need to operate in a fast-paced production environment, handle large volumes of assets and data in established workflows, and manage storage and access of finished static content.

Responsibilities

  • Track, acquire and catalog photography and / or finished static content and artwork from multiple concurrent productions.
  • This includes validation of delivered content; application of copyright, production and content metadata; upload content into available Digital Asset Management systems (DAMs);

collaborate on multiple and concurrent tasks at various stages in the digital asset workflow; and work across multiple productions and projects, with large volumes of content while appropriately managing time and resources.

Monitor production and photo shoot schedules. Store and maintain asset-related show information in the internal knowledge base.

Analyze call sheets from our Starz Original series to develop controlled keyword lists for enhanced searchability and filtering within the DAMs.

  • Track and record talent, publicity and marketing approvals as well as asset exclusivities and embargoes. Route approved assets to multiple departments throughout the show’s marketing campaign.
  • Track and fulfill image deliverable requests and centralize finished assets for multiple uses. Perform digital imaging duties including resizing, cropping and re-positioning of content based on outlined specifications from requestors.
  • Interact and coordinate operational support with the Creative Services department at various stages of the photo workflows.
  • Effectively utilize and support various DAMs, image editing software and metadata editing tools to drive asset management workflows.

Engage in discussions on process and operational improvements and data analyses, and contribute to documentation and continued updates of workflows and processes.

Support the broader Photo Operations team in other business processes during peak programming and production cycles.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Background in digital asset management, and digital photography on macOS-based systems.
  • Competent with Adobe Photoshop and Bridge. Fluent in industry-standard image file formats and underlying concepts.
  • Background working with metadata, content management systems (CMS), DAM systems, and project management tools such as Asana and Workfront.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant study.
  • Experience within the entertainment, media or other production-oriented industry.
  • Experience in working with raw processing software, such as Capture One, Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom.
  • Demonstration of consistent growth in skills and knowledge in areas of practice.

Compensation

$55,000 - $60,000
