By joining JAC Products as a Warranty Engineer , you can experience our unique culture firsthand. In this position, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer warranty claims for failure mode and responsibility and lead improvement teams.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Analyze customer warranty for root cause, responsibility, cost, and resolution.
- Disposition warranty claims by dispute and / or acceptance to our customers.
- Ensure all customer payments or debits due to warranty are correct and fully resolved within contractual timeframes.
- Access all customer warranty portals and run regular reports from each respective database.
- Create and publish an executive monthly warranty report by customer, including customer scorecards and identifying top / emerging field failures by end-item part number.
- Work with JAC manufacturing facilities, JAC Engineering, and Customers on corrective actions to top field failures and chair weekly meetings to review progress and track to completion.
- Attend and / or facilitate customer warranty meetings.
- Schedule internal weekly warranty meetings to review claim data and action plans.
- Manage internal change management (CR / CN) process, as well as customer change management processes.
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES :
- Strong statistical model development skills regression analysis and Weibull distribution
- Full understanding of AIAG guidelines, PPAP Requirements, and CQI-14
- Advanced technical knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, aluminum extrusion, roll forming, fabrication, finishing, adhesives, and product assembly.
- Advanced knowledge and practical application of problem-solving skills and process improvement analysis tools and techniques (ex.
Statistics, D.O.E., Six Sigma).
- Ability to create or modify test methods to simulate real world conditions and specific failure modes.
- Ability to prototype / mockup representative product changes for the purposes of testing or assembly trials utilizing hand tools, machine shop equipment, 3D printers, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Product Quality Engineering preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Warranty Engineering preferred
