Safety Manager Idaho
The Project Safety Manager is part of the leadership team for the Idaho Business Unit. Safety Leadership starts with proactive safety preparation and planning with both clients and Suntec teams from job award through completion.
Working collaboratively with site-specific Project Managers, Superintendent’s and Foremen, the Safety Manager establishes accountability for all aspects of safety and ensures compliance and continual learning opportunities exist building to a best-in-class Safety culture.
Job Responsibilities :
1.) Coordination of general contractor required documents
- Review contract and documents related to safety deliverables
- Development of Job Specific Safety Plan, Silica Exposure Control Plan, Confined Space Plan, etc.
- Review and submit JHA
- Planning and development of Training Matrix (OSHA, CPR, Equipment, Rigging, etc.)
2.) Ensure effective and engaging preparatory Safety Meetings with each crew before starting of work
Every job / each team / each activity
3.) Contribute to Integrated Work Plans for each activity on each job for safety preparation
4.) Conduct weekly Job Audit of every Job
- Provide thorough review and feedback of positives and improvements for each job site
- Maintain contact with General Contractor prior to and during the audit on site
- Escalate concerns to senior leadership as needed
5.) Design, develop and deliver Safety Tradesmen Green Hat training program
- Design a training Program that delivers a competent Safety Tradesman
- Continually develop content and material to attract and retain employees in the program
6.) Provide weekly Look Ahead for proper time management
7.) Coordinate and facilitate overall Training Schedule
- Provide three months look ahead schedule of training
- Ensure there are two tradesmen classes per week to develop and grow leaders
- Actively involve leaders in the needs assessment, design, facilitation and feedback of all training
- Continually assess the training needs of new and continuing employees
- Create and conduct training sessions to meet the needs of the Business Unit : Fall Protection, OSHA 30, CPR, Equipment and Tool, Toolwatch, etc.
- Track and submit proper attendance, certification and compliance documentation for all training events.
8.) Stays knowledgeable about all federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to safety and health issues and ensures compliance in each of these areas.

- Reduction of number of safety incidents
- Reduction of safety Incident Rate
- Successful Green Hat training program (measured by increasing recruiting and retention of Green Hats)
- 100% completion and demonstrated improving outcomes of Weekly Safety Audits
- Safety Preparation & Integrated Work Plan’s (IWP)
