Please ensure you read the below overview and requirements for this employment opportunity completely.Director of Development and CommunicationsThe FRD team is seeking a strong individual to join the team to assist in strengthening our fundraising and communications efforts.

Job Summary : Tell the story of Adamah in a way that is compelling to stakeholders and investors nationwide and globally, using impact numbers and qualitative content.

Primarily responsible to the National Programs team to deliver their marketing & communications needs, including : year-in-review and quarterly investor updates.

Plan & design presentation formats for board meetings and conference presentations.Develop compelling case for giving for Adamah’s programs.

Prepare materials for meetings and solicitations.Develop an individual giving campaign strategy for Adamah that includes :

Developing an annual campaign goal and tracking progress.Creating and managing a team of Adamah solicitors (staff and lay) who are trained to speak about Adamah’s key initiatives.

Designing and executing mini campaigns throughout the year, e.g., Giving Tuesday, Tu B’shvat, etc.Writing collateral material to be used by our team of solicitors (e.

g., Adamah’s 1-2 page org overview document that accompanies an organizational email, quarterly funder report, or Harvest online review).

Creating a strategy to acquire new monthly donors.Creating a strategy for testamentary gifts to Adamah.Cultivation of new and existing $1,000+ donors.

Convert special campaign donors into general operational support donors.Support special campaign efforts including events and capital campaigns.

Develop marketing plan for Community donors ($999 and below) including e-solicitation, mass mailings, and general outreach.

Helpful prior skills and experience include : Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Strong administration and Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft SharePoint, and Salesforce experience.

Ability to multitask and hold multiple projects at once.Self-starter, ability to self-motivate and work on solo projects as needed.

Strong attention to detail as well as ability to hold a big-picture view.Commitment to deadlines and task completion.General : It is everyone’s job to ensure the financial health of the organization through retreat sales, program revenue, and / or fundraising.

Attend weekly department meetings.Attend monthly all-staff meetings.Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service.

Must maintain a professional demeanor.Must be able to adapt to changing situations.Other tasks / duties as assigned.Working Conditions : This is an exempt position with work hours set to Monday-Friday, with some travel and weekend work possibility (depending on needs of the role).

There is an annual all staff gathering which may require travel to one of our retreat centers.This job description does not state or imply that the above are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to the position.
