Position Title : Apprentice- A2I - 1
Position Reports To : Foreman, Craft professionals
Position Summary
An Apprentice - A2I - 1requires instruction under a more experienced colleague or leader to gain the appropriate skills in the role they are aiming for.
Apprentices agree to work for a business and with an expert person who is tasked to develop their skillset
Essential Functions
Follow verbal directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below.
Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.
Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.
Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time.
Clean up of work area, supplies, materials, and equipment.
Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site.
Comply with all Apache and client safety policies and programs.
Maintain a reliable attendance records
Always maintains a clean and safe work environment
Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner.
Able to wear all required PPE
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Complete training period of the Apache Access II Industry program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
May be asked to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and trucks. Documented training must be completed, and approved by Apache Safety Management, before operating any heavy equipment.
Learn with the company’s assigned experienced staff
Perform or assist with insulation removal, scaffold material handling as well as coatings and general material, tools and supplies movement around the jobsite as directed by Craftsmen and Supervision.
This will frequently require working with hand tools and other labor-intensive equipment.
Perform or assist with job cleanup, inspection, and repair.
Participate in classes and any workshops that might take place on-site or off-site
Complete the prescribed tests and assignments
Gain knowledge, skills and experience throughout their apprenticeship
Learn about the industry they are in and specific best practice in that field
Must maintain a positive attitude with crew members.
Ensuring good housekeeping is being performed throughout the entire project - inside & outside.
Work Conditions / Physical Demands
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
