Duties :
- Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Work with accounts receivable to establish credit.
- Assist with managing accounts receivable collections.
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
- Verifies and / or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Approves all AP vouchers and invoices.
- Tracks wires weekly and track accruals at year end.
- Prepares reports including but limited to monthly headcount and overtime reports, monthly pound report comparison, weekly check register report, etc.
- Initiate pay BGE, pay and reconcile salesmen WEX accounts, pay and reconcile telephone accounts
- Overseer of all freight transactions including timely processes, payment and reconciliation of all freight bill and freight accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies and assists in preparing annual returns.
- Assist in system migrations including but not limited to bank migration, assisting with fixed assets, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Assist the Controller in preparing yearly schedules, including but not limited to rent, donations, R&D credits, etc. Prepare bank schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
Prepare the donation schedule weekly and monthly.
- Manage and implement the fixed asset software and associated schedules.
- Assist in the creation of journal entries.
- Act as a backup and understudy to the Accounting Manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general / financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare reports.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting with 1-3 years’ experience as a Staff Accountant or equivalent.
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry a plus
