Database Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our data systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MS SQL, SSIS, Snowflake, and AWS, coupled with a passion for innovation and a drive to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement MS SQL databases to support business applications and processes.
• Utilize SSIS for ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources into the data warehouse.
• Develop and maintain data models to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of information.
• Optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
• Deploy and manage database solutions on AWS, including EC2 instances, Glue, and S3 storage.
• Implement best practices for security, scalability, and disaster recovery in a cloud environment.
• Design and build data pipelines to integrate data from disparate sources into the Snowflake data warehouse.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across all stages of the ETL process.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks.
• Monitor database performance and identify areas for optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in database engineering, with expertise in MS SQL Server, SSIS, Snowflake, and AWS.
• Strong SQL programming skills and proficiency in MS SQL Server database administration tasks.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies, particularly AWS services like EC2, Glue, and S3.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

• AWS or Snowflake certifications.
• Experience implementing RESTful APIs supporting system integrations.
• Familiarity with code repository solutions.
• Experience working with JIRA and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Experience in the Automotive industry is a plus.
• Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment.
• German language capability is a plus.

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Ability to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, and occasionally climb stairs with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to effectively work and complete tasks in an open office / noisy environment

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $55 - $65 / per hour, depending on experience.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
