Position Summary :
- The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely preparation and payment of company payroll. As a part of the finance team, the Payroll Specialist will provide friendly customer service to all employees and use problem solving skills to resolve any issues. Location :

Education :
- Requires High School Diploma
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
Experience :
- Minimum 1-3 years of payroll experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Knowledge of multi-state taxation is preferred
- Experience using ADP payroll reporting system is preferred.
- Strong Analytical skills to define problems, identify solutions and to implement changes.
- Must be comfortable working with all levels of business personnel.
- Ability to promote and drive an environment of continuous improvement.
- Ability to work with confidential information
Licensure / Certification :
- Valid drivers license
- Valid Auto Insurance
- At least 21 years old
Essential Duties :
- Maintain all payroll records, reports, and audits; works closely with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and government regulations
- Knowledgeable of processing each division’s payroll and able to assist during staff shortage or growth of organization
- Ensures all timesheets are submitted in compliance with policy, contract, state and regulatory requirements
- Process bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner utilizing time and pay reporting systems.
- Reviews, audits, and balances payroll prior to transmission to ensure time and deductions are entered accurately
- Reviews computed wages and corrects any errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings · Review payroll taxes and verifying accuracy by state and city if applicable
- Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers, accounting teams and business units · Provide friendly customer service to employees with payroll questions or issues
- Troubleshooting payroll issues within multiple business units
- Processing garnishments and assuring they are withheld and paid timely
- Assure that all legally required taxes are correctly setup, withheld and paid in a timely and accurate manner and reconciled accordingly
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential · Performs other duties and special projects as requested by Payroll Manager
