Overview
The Claims Clerk will provide various support functions at multiple levels for the claims department. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values.
Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of office equipment, including computers, printers, copy machines, facsimile receiver / transmitter and mailing equipment.
- Monitors Operations department Outlook Inboxes, processes requests and / or distributes items to the appropriate claim staff.
- Provide mentoring and support to others in the department
- Participate in and successfully contribute to special projects
- Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required :
- High school diploma
- Minimum 1 year experience working in insurance claims department OR related office environment
- Intermediate understanding of business technology, including MS Office, claims financial and imaging system.
- Working knowledge of insurance as it relates to a Claims Department and claims processes
- Ability to take direction and make decisions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish goals and meet deadlines
- Ability to resolve difficult challenges as they may arise
- Self-organized and detail oriented.
