About The Position
Job Title : Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty : Diagnostic Radiology General Procedures Job Duration : 12 weeks Shift : 3rd Shift (.
5 temporary every Friday, Saturday, every other Sunday) Guaranteed Hours : 20.00 Experience : One year of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred.
Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. Experience in ER and OR is required.
License : State of WI license as a Radiographer Certifications : - ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent within 90 days of hire Must-Have : Ability to work alone- Proficiency in EPIC- Strong organizational and prioritization skills- Flexibility in scheduling and shifts Job Description : Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology, operating imaging equipment.
- Perform diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols while utilizing appropriate radiation protection measures.
- Adhere to organizational customer service standards and support organizational excellence initiatives.- Provide positive and effective interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Assist in ancillary services and patient care areas as necessary.- Perform radiologic / fluoroscopic procedures accurately and efficiently with minimal discomfort to the patient.
- Explain exams to patients and interview them to obtain personal medical history, documenting this information into RIS.
- Provide clear explanation and instruction to patients and assist them throughout exams.- Provide radiation protection to self and patients following ALARA and prescribed safety standards (OSHA, PPE, hand washing, etc.
Appropriately position patients and select technical factors to produce images of maximum diagnostic quality with minimal repeats.
- Ensure correct image identification, including placement of ID markers and proper annotation.- Review each study for technical accuracy and approve images, matching orders to images and archiving to PACS.
- Perform PACS reconciliations accurately and completely in a timely manner.- Document fluoro time and estimated skin exposure for fluoro studies.
- Follow EPIC workflow from order entry / verification to end exam, including notes, medication documentation, and supply charges where applicable.
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling reassignment and shift rotations to support departmental needs, including weekends, call, and holiday rotations as applicable.
- Proactively look for additional opportunities throughout the department to increase efficiency and provide a cohesive work environment.
- Offer assistance to others, prepare exam rooms for the next patient, stock supplies and linens, and maintain a clean staff work area.
- Provide a positive teaching and learning environment for staff, students / interns, providers, and visitors.- Act as a mentor and role model, assisting in onboarding new employees.
- Observe malfunctioning equipment and follow the correct procedure to report equipment issues, providing minor troubleshooting.
