Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Mesa, AZ). will make an impact in the following ways :

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

Perform maintenance / repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

Ongoing development / certifications on new and existing Cummins products

Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following :

RESPONSIBILITIES

Advanced) :

Ability to troubleshoot with limited / no support from diagnostic tools

Larger more complicated engine rebuilds

Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Experience : Intermediate level knowledge of and / or experience with engine products

QUALIFICATIONS

Overhaul experience required in Cummins engines. Certification is a plus.

The level for this position will be based on the candidates qualifications and skill set. Qualifications for different technician levels :

Technician Level II : Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location;

primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

A current valid license is required for this role

This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical

3 years driving experience

This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use

Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age

This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
