The Tsui Group is seeking a candidate who is qualified and experienced in educational facility construction projects to serve as an EMS Senior Technician for a large educational client within Los Angeles County with the below duties :

  • Assist with HVAC Controls Design and Submittal reviews
  • Assist in reviewing utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro commissioning
  • Assist in reviewing EMS and energy data, and alarms to identify no cost / low-cost energy conservation measures
  • Assist in the review of EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures
  • Perform site visits to investigate as built conditions on identified projects
  • Implement low-cost to no-cost solutions or alternatives to projects / repairs of EMS systems at existing school sites
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems
  • Respond to basic warranty calls
  • Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
  • Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Experience :

  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in building controls or a related field
  • Understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC maintenance issues
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility.

Required Education :

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology)
  • Two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics-related studies with additional 2 years of experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers including Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane
  • Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases
  • Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
  • Extensive experience in performing or assisting in performance of commissioning of EMS
