SUMMARY
Provide non-clinical, peer-based activities and facilitate groups at the Anchored in Recovery Support Center that engage, educate, and support and individual in their recovery from substance use,
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide individual and group support to referred and self-referred members, walk-ins and during in-crisis situations.
- Maintain consistent communication with recoverees in-person or via text, email, phone, or video utilizing agency provided equipment.
- Establish and regularly update a recovery plan individualized to member needs.
- Create and maintain accurate files and records, complete required ongoing paperwork.
- Ensure confidentiality of recoveree member, employee and Agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
- Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate with staff as needed
- Attend & participate in team meetings as requested
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with members, staff, and external community-based resources.
- Transport members to appropriate recovery activities as needed.
- Ensure compliance with program / department, agency, and funder requirements, as well as SMOC policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have lived experience with substance use and be in recovery.
- Sensitivity to experiences of members of diverse backgrounds.
- Able to manage tasks and work Independently.
- Able to complete Recovery Coach Academy Training.
- Valid MA driver’s license, reliable access to transportation, and the ability to transport members using agency vehicles.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
- Reports directly to Recovery Coach Supervisor
- Direct reports of this position are none.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to drive.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be located in a residence which may not be handicapped accessible. Some travel with recoverees is required.
As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Recovery Coach will have direct or incidental contact with recoverees served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
A successful background check is required. Dress is business casual.
