About The Position
Job Title : Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
Location : Ogema MN 56569
Duration : 12 Months / Full time (Options for 26 weeks Contract)
Start date : Jan 2025
Shift Schedule : Days, Monday Friday, 40 hours / week
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor of Science Degree or associate's degree in medical technology
Experience : must have a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience
License : Medical Technologist (ASCP)
Certification : BLS
Job Description :
- Collect, prepare, and process specimens for routine testing or for referral to an external laboratory.
- Perform and monitor routine and specialized laboratory tests in microbiology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and serology.
- Conduct quality control on equipment, reagents, and test results, troubleshooting issues as needed to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Follow laboratory policies and safety protocols, including infection control and use of personal protective equipment.
- Accurately interpret test results, recognizing abnormal findings, and complete detailed laboratory reports in a timely manner.
- Provide laboratory services that address age-specific needs (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) in a respectful, professional manner.
- laboratory specimen collection, processing, testing and reporting services for eligible patients (pediatrics, adults, and elderly)
