Title : HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist

Location : Seattle, WA (Hybrid)

Salary : $85k - $95k / year

The HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist serves as a key resource supporting our diverse team while coordinating and supporting day-to-day HR and payroll initiatives.

The HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist will have exposure to all facets of HR and payroll, including but not limited to administration of Company policies, administration of Company compensation / benefits program, employee relations, and engagement, and leave administration.

Regular communication is essential to this role. The HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist will build relationships with all departments and gain familiarity with all Company practices, becoming a subject matter expert on all HR and payroll matters.

This role will report to the VP of Human Resources.

What You'll Do

  • Administer semi-monthly payroll processes for Company and affiliate entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Assist with managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, and other company-sponsored benefits
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Help with the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and new hire onboarding
  • Maintain and update employee records and payroll records, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Support performance management processes, including evaluations, feedback, and development plans
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Develop the monthly employee newsletter and company meeting HR slide
  • Ensure compliance with Form I-9 and periodically audits I-9s
  • Identify ways to maximize the utilization of our performance management platform
  • Assist with the development and delivery of programs that drive employee engagement
  • Reviews and analyzes people-related data, presents results, and recommends opportunities that positively influence organizational behaviors and outcomes
  • Assists VP of HR and other HR leadership with employee relations issues by coaching, counseling, and guiding managers
  • Reports, maintains, and monitors all workers’ compensation cases files
  • Files OSHA 300A forms annually
  • Owns the safety team agendas on a monthly basis
  • Supports the administration of company-wide surveys
  • Provide weekly updates to the VP of HR to ensure business needs are met
  • Provide a consultative approach to internal stakeholders
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (preferred). HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP a plus
  • 4+ years of multi-state HR and payroll experience, preferably in highly regulated states (WA, CA, NY)
  • Experience utilizing ADP or other payroll software and excellent excel skills preferred
  • Helpful if candidate has experience in professional services, specifically financial services or private equity.

This position has a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work remotely one day a week in coordination with the Vice President of Human Resources.
