Description

Summary : We are Friedman's. We sell the products that help build homes, and those homes house families who build memories in our communities.

Our Delivery Drivers play an important role in this process by delivering these products in an expeditious and safe manner, proving excellent customer service during each and every delivery.

Delivery Class A is an advanced position in the delivery series satisfies Delivery Class B, and Delivery Class C qualifications and responsibilities including departmental tests.

Must possess a California Class A Driver License and provide current, clean (insurable record) DMV printout.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Organize and load product for delivery utilizing daily / weekly schedule, while assuring the most efficient delivery route and schedule.
• Obey all regulatory agency and Company safety directives, conducting a safe work zone during each delivery.
• Partner with Logistics Specialists to fulfill the assigned delivery schedule.
• Gather appropriate paperwork for deliveries; ensure accuracy of items for delivery.
• Deliver product as per customer requirements in the most expeditious and courteous manner, obtain signatures and complete all required paperwork.
• Accept returns from customer, complete appropriate paperwork and return to Warehouse. Place product in return area with appropriate documentation.
• Avoid damaging job site property (particularly driveways) when unloading materials. Document and report any damage to products, customer's property or to delivery truck.
• Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate. Inform supervisor of outstanding issues.
• Maintain daily pre-trip and trip logbook as required by Company policy.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Supervise and train Delivery Class B and Class C's regarding loads, transfers, and equipment, ensuring equipment is always kept neat and clean.
• Partner with Logistics Specialists, coordinating driver trucks and destinations as needed.
• Perform monthly audits on load building, truck leading, truck pre-trip inspections, and delivery staging area.
• Maintain a daily pre-trip logbook and trip logbook as required by company policy and in the B.I.T. and Pull Programs.

Education / Experience :

High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years delivery experience

• Approachable, courteous and customer service focused individual, who displays the ability to troubleshoot on the go at job sites as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and load products safely, with efficient use of truck space mindset.
• Flexible individual that reacts and adjusts quickly to changing deliveries and schedule priorities.

Work Location :

Stationed at a retail location to begin and end each day. Making deliveries throughout Sonoma County and occasionally beyond as needed.

Licenses and Certification : Must possess a Class A driver's license - Must have a current Motor Vehicle Report that represents a history of safe and competent driving and have current DOT medical certification card.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in the English language. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of Company.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.

The Team Member is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including but not limited to working in hot weather temperatures exceeding 95 , temperatures as low or below 45 , constant rain or very rarely snow.

The Team Member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals (Prop 65). The Team Member can be exposed to high, precarious places.
