The Controls Engineer will provide controls leadership and technical support for custom automation projects.
Role Responsibilities :
Conceive, validate, & recommend new or upgraded equipment and process methods, which will advance our global manufacturing and product leadership position.
Participate on cross-functional engineering teams to develop and deploy automation equipment to meet project requirements.
Develop, configure, debug, and deploy PLCs, and HMIs programs
Research and recognize reliable technologies which can be successfully applied to unique filter manufacturing challenges.
Demonstrate problem solving methodologies during equipment commissioning and debugging
Champion knowledge transfer and training on new processes and equipment.
Develop and train Donaldson technicians to resolve controls related machine problems
Participate with multidisciplinary teams to understand how machine controls design may affect the product quality
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
2+ years of experience working in PLC driven manufacturing facility / controls engineering
Preferred Qualifications :
Strong experience with programming Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley platforms, Siemens a plus.
Experience with advanced motion control, robotics, safety, and vision systems
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and controls systems in an operational environment
Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects on time and within budget.
Communicate effectively with vendors and internal cross-functional teams.
Inspire others with positive attitude and innovated / creative thinking
Discrete manufacturing, web handling, or converting experience.
Experience using AutoCAD Electrical for industrial control panel design
Experience in applying of UL508A, OSHA, and applicable NFPA codes
Experience with motion control, variable speed drives, and pneumatics
Design of the safety related parts of the control system
