About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a skilled GIS Project Manager to oversee and manage our Geographic Information System (GIS) projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technology, project management, and team leadership. The GIS Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Plan, execute, and finalize GIS projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Willing to learn other systems i.e. ProWatch One Badge, MTPD, and Safety Management Systems.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, or related field

Required and Desired Skills / Certifications :

  • Proven experience in GIS project management, including successful project delivery
  • Strong knowledge of GIS software, tools, and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse project team
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus
  • Scrum Master Certification (CSM) is a plus

Additional Requirements :

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and other GIS tools and Utilities; knowledge of GIS modeling and familiarity with spatial application development techniques and geographic data design.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases , geospatial analysis , and mapping techniques .
  • Ability to work with geospatial data formats .
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address business challenges using spatial data.
  • Understanding of GIS market dynamics and industry trends .
  • Working knowledge of agile management tools such as JIRA.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Visio or a similar tool, and PowerPoint .
