Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to play a key role on our team in Boise, ID. The ideal candidate will have experience in bridge and transportation design projects.

There will be the opportunity to engage in business development activities and professional organizations. Experience with the Idaho Transportation Department or LHTAC beneficial.
SUMMARY
The Group Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of an internal team, specializing in a specific field of engineering.
The Group Manager independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad area of assignments and related fields.
The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities.
Position Description
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Oversees the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Is active in technical societies.
- Publishes engineering papers and / or articles.
- Serves as a senior project manager or senior project engineer on complex projects and as a designated client contact.
- Assists the Regional Manager in Business Development efforts.
- Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies.
- Successfully develops and maintains meaningful relationships with clients.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Supervises select group of employees and support staff. Manages the staff and is responsible for technical training, career development and performance of all assigned staff.
- Serves as a coach for engineering and technical staff.
- Responsible for identifying, recruiting and retaining qualified technical personnel.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety
- Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
- Follows established communication processes and systems to ensure effective communication with staff, clients and corporate office.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and / or master’s degree in Civl Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- 15 years or more progressive engineering experience, including project management.
- Maintains competency in and serves as major resource in field of expertise.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) and / or Structural Engineer (S.E.)
- A valid driver's license.
