Responsibilities
Project Management : Defining new projects, managing workload across the team, and overseeing on schedule completion. Provide regular updates to leadership on key projects and initiatives.
This individual should have a bias towards action when working through problems or challenges that may arise.
Team Management Closely monitor levels of productivity and performance across the team. Provide regular feedback to employees and management on the team of priorities and performance.
Manage workload effectively across all team members. Take part in personnel decisions to include hiring / firing, compensation, and roles / responsibilities.
Technical Training : Responsible for supporting and cross-training members of Zayo’s engineering and support staff. This includes identifying areas of need, compiling training documentation, and delivering training courses.
Network Documentation : Must be proficient in reporting, graphing, and writing technical documentation using various programs.
Accurate reporting of daily activities is required to measure and maintain success.
Product and Service Definition : Work closely with Zayo product managers to develop and define products and services.
Network Performance Management : Work with all network operations teams to ensure optimal performance of the network. Responsible for escalations to other teams as needed to resolve underlying system / technology problems e.
g. wavelength or fiber infrastructure.
Budget Management : Accurately balance network and operational expenses to operate within a forecasted budget. Work with multiple vendors to negotiate cost savings.
Network Design : Work with architecture and operational engineering to create scalable network designs that operate within architectural guidelines.
Network Maintenance Support : Responsible for assisting with creation of network maintenance activities as well as addressing customer related escalations that may arise from these activities in regards to level of impact, scheduling, etc.
May also be asked to assist in high profile after hour maintenance activity as needed. Flexible schedule to support these activities as needed is a must.
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) or equivalent from four-year University or technical school.
Minimum of five (5) years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of two (2) years in a team leadership role overseeing technical engineering level teams.
Preferred Certification JNCIA, JNCIP, CCNA, CCNP.
Detail oriented, quality driven, self-directed, and self-motivated team player.
Familiar with fundamentals of IP routing and switching, including BGP, DNS, IP address management.
Proficient with Juniper, Cisco, and Nokia routers.
Direct and recent experience troubleshooting circuit connectivity in a complex routed network environment.
Direct and recent experience using a router CLI to provision IP / Ethernet services.
Familiar with fundamentals of provisioning fiber based circuits in a datacenter environment, including patches, cross-connects, risers, and backhaul.
Experience managing a team within a complex and fast paced environment.
Good problem solving skills with the ability to focus on the salient facts in order to resolve an issue.
Familiar with Google Suite applications (Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.)
Good communication skills verbal and written.
Base Salary Range : $97,800 - $122,200 USD / annually, commensurate with experience.
