Responsibilities :
The Sr / Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in guiding the financial direction of the company, working closely with senior leadership.
This position requires a seasoned finance executive with deep experience in biopharmaceuticals, particularly in clinical late stage development, and a strong track record of financial leadership in complex, publicly traded environments.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Strategy and Planning : Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with corporate goals and growth objectives.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis : Oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency.
Provide insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting : Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
- Investment and Capital Allocation : Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial analysis to support capital allocation decisions.
- Risk Management : Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership : Directly manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and high performance.
- Strategic Partnerships : Collaborate closely with senior executives and department heads to align financial goals with operational objectives and business priorities.
- External Stakeholder Relations : Serve as a key liaison with investors, analysts, auditors, and other external stakeholders on financial matters.
- Operational Excellence : Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance and accounting functions, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Corporate Governance : Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance principles.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles within the biopharmaceutical industry, with specific expertise in late stage clinical development.
- Proven track record of success in a publicly traded environment, including experience with SEC reporting requirements and investor relations.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to drive business results through effective financial management and decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives, board members, and external stakeholders.
