Traveling Mechanic Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Traveling Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will primarily work on servicing and installing residential lift systems.
Our ideal candidate has a certificate that follows the standards set by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and some experience working with low-voltage systems.
Shift / Pay for Traveling Mechanic :
- M-F 7am-4pm (NO nights / holidays)
- Travel is required, and the candidate needs to have a flexible schedule. All travel is around the Des Moines area within 3-4 hours
- Multiple overnights / week- MUST be able to travel almost 50-75% of the time
- Pay : $25-30 / hr (depending on experience)

Traveling Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with clients to install systems on-site
- Respond to repair calls
- Read blueprints to determine how to best install the components and wiring
- Test all systems and troubleshoot any issues
- Teach the client how to use the system
Traveling Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Electrician experience AND mechanical experience
- Blueprint reading skills
- Strong communication skills
- Mechanical skills
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures
