JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, age-appropriate, direct and indirect patient care, while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Assess, evaluate, and intervene in the bio-psychosocial aspects of late adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and their significant others, who are in an acute phase of mental or emotional disturbance.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Mental Health teams at Samaritan Health Services provide a full range of professional mental health services through a team of highly skilled psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers.
- EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
Other certifications may be required for department specific positions. Minimum of one year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Ability to operate applications, write software, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information. Critical thinking - Ability to analyze, organize, prioritize and make effective critical decisions.
