• Communicates effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal / degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.
• Reads and understands mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Installs / troubleshoots / repairs AC and DC drives / motors
• Modifies / reads / troubleshoots / installs PLC programs.
• Fabricates and installs various electrical, piping, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
• Rebuilds various parts / equipment.
• Must be able to pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilize safe work practices and PPE.

Responsibilities :

While reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment and minimize downtime.

This individual will use their training and knowledge to perform equipment / process / system maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, make repairs and identify opportunities for improvement.

Working hours : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM

Skills :

• We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven
• We need you have to at least 2-3 years' experience in industrial maintenance.
• You will need strong hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting abilities
• We prefer that you have experience with machines and tooling maintenance procedures
• Knowledge of robotics and auxiliary equipment used with plastic injection molding is a plus.
• You have to have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems / tasks.
• To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
• You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
• You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
• You will need to be able to perform repetitive duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
• You will need to supply and maintain your own tools.
