Structural Engineer (Bridge) PE

Job Summary : Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for an Structural Engineer (Bridge) PE at our Dallas office.

This full-time structural position is within our transportation group and also provides the opportunity to support other disciplines on an as needed basis.

HZ’s portfolio includes prestressed, post-tensioned and conventionally reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structures.

Registration(s) : PE License

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Technical and managerial responsibilities are dependent on experience level and typically include :
• Apply prescribed methods and procedures in accordance with established criteria
• Prepare calculations in accordance with applicable design codes by following standard engineering practices and procedures within established guidelines
• Prepare detailed designs, plans and specifications for bridges and other transportation structures
• Manage all project aspects including scope of work development, fee development, and subconsultant management
• Assist business development and project pursuits
• Interact and collaborate with clients, owners and other highway disciplines
• Mentor and develop junior engineers
• Implement Huitt-Zollars’ Quality Management Plans for project deliverables

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) Master’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (MSCE) a plus
• Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas
• Ability to obtain license in other states
• Proficient with TxDOT design practice and guidelines highly preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with relevant technology / software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, RISA, STADD
• Passionate about transportation and major highway design projects
• Ability to work / lead in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
