Clinical Supervision :

Clinical Supervision is available for MSW team members to access licensure after they have received their required permit.

All hours received during weekly supervision can be counted towards the applicant’s requirements for licensure.

About the Program :

Graham Windham’s Intensive Prevention Program combines the Solution-Based Casework (SBC) method and the evidence-based Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT) modality to promote child safety and well-being, reduce risks to children and youth, and prevent foster care placement.

About the Position :

The Program Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision to Unit Case Planners in the implementing of the Goals and Objectives of the cases and ensuring responsive action is taken for clients needs, accurate and prompt communication with other agencies and regulatory bodies : provides a first-line response to clients in the case of emergencies, and provide direct casework as required;

maintains a current understanding of regulatory requirements and agency polices and ensures compliance and a good standard of performance for assigned staff.

The BSFT model is a brief family intervention for children and youth with serious behavior problems and / or drug use. The BSFT intervention works well for families with poor behavior management and problematic relationships.

The intervention identifies patterns of family interaction and improves them to restore effective parental leadership and involvement with the youth.

BSFT also seeks to reduce drug use and delinquency in youth. BSFT therapists meet weekly with families and work with all family members.

The BSFT Admin Supervisor will assume the ACS Administrative Supervisory role and responsibilities.

The Admin Supervisor can transit to the role of the BSFT supervisor if they possess the License required and meet the clinical model specific proficiency required as assessed by the BSFT model Supervisor. See details below.

The BSFT supervisor (LMSW or LCSW) provides leadership to the BSFT team and sustain fidelity BSFT at that program for the long term.

Implementing an evidence-based model like BSFT in a community setting requires a BSFT Supervisor with a pioneering spirit, and who is resilient and flexible.

The individual should be confident about the model and its effectiveness, energizing and motivating the team towards competence in the BSFT intervention.

In order to transition to the BSFT Supervisory role, the Admin Supervisor will need to carry up to three cases to build necessary clinical skills for BSFT.

BSFT Supervisor must also have the ability to role model excellent BSFT practice skills for the therapists via recorded sessions with families.

The BSFT Supervisor must be fully committed to providing family therapy services. Moreover, they must believe in the efficacy of family therapy and have conceptual mastery of BSFT theory and practice.

A relational rather than an individual focus must guide all their thinking and behavior in therapy and supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities :

The Administrative Program Supervisor will attend agency meetings in the absence of the Program Director. To work with the Program Director in making outreach to outside community agencies, establishing effective communication with ACS, and providing direction to all of the staff members.

To participate in activities sponsored by the agency and that are of benefit to families in the program.

Agency Wide Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide ongoing management direction and support to staff, ensuring correct implementation of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervision and coaching to assigned caseworkers, enabling them to provide appropriate and consistent services through ongoing training and skills development.
  • Ensure that efficient administrative procedures are in place within the unit.
  • Carry out casework reviews as mandated by regulation, ensuring compliance in program and records with government mandates and Agency policies.

Develops Utilization Clinical Reviews, consumer satisfaction surveys and other quality assurance processes.

  • Ensures that high standards of timeliness and accuracy are maintained in case requirements, monitoring case planning and services provided.
  • Maintains and applies a current knowledge of preventive services, regulations and trains unit staff develops and maintains affiliations with community child welfare resources.
  • Provides client consultation and participates in management meetings, agency committees, and interdisciplinary conferences as assigned.
  • Provides direct casework services to more challenging cases in order to accommodate family and program needs.
  • Attends regularly scheduled supervision, and courses and seminars for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing social work and supervisory skills.
  • Assist with Family Team conferences (FTC) facilitation as needed.
  • Responds to client emergencies within or outside of office hours; maintains cell coverage as needed.

Salary & Compensation :

  • Salary : $75,000 - $77,000 / annually + Potential to Earn Merit Performance Based Incentive for Eligible Staff + Comprehensive Benefits + Professional Development Opportunities

Qualifications :

  • NYS Certified Social Worker with an MSW degree or other related Master degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience and at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of ACS, regulations, policies and procedures.

Physical Sensory Requirements :

  • Ability to read, write and converse in English. (Bilingual is a plus).
  • Ability to remain calms and composed under stressful situations.
  • Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand / eye coordination, pushing / pulling and other prolonged setting / standing.
  • Ability to evaluate / interpret information and make independent judgements / decisions.
  • Ability to communicate with other staff, and family as well as outside agencies that provide support to program participants.
