General Summary

The IT Security Desktop and Endpoint Configuration Engineer ( Endpoint Security Engineer ) identifies, documents, and develops IT security policies, procedures, tools, and solutions for all Company endpoints.

The endpoint security engineer works as part of a larger team regarding all endpoint assets by identifying and solving potential and actual implementation, use, and security problems and working with and supporting other operational areas of the IT Department.

There may be times when work schedules may occasionally need to temporarily adjust to align with our operations in the UK, Europe, China, and Japan.

This role will be a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain endpoint images.
  • Hardware and software configurations; standards.
  • Maintain endpoint client security and patching.
  • Research, implement, and maintain imaging solutions.
  • Support the Helpdesk as needed; break / fix; troubleshoot issues; and deploy support systems by the Helpdesk.
  • Work with internal IT and user teams to review and implement security-driven processes and policies.
  • Continually train IT staff on new or updated procedures.
  • Implement security improvements by assessing the current situation, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
  • Perform work in both a domestic and international environment.
  • Compliance awareness, including DOD / Nuclear, HIPPA, PCI, etc.
  • Develop and maintain ITSEC DEV / TEST environments.
  • Research and advice on technology.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and skills by attending training, educational workshops, reviewing publications, etc.
  • May be requested to perform other projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certificate equivalent or higher
  • Prefer 2 years of hands-on working experience in supporting endpoints
  • Experience with PCI, PII, HIPAA, DFARS / NIST / ITAR is a plus
  • Experience with imaging and configuration management systems
  • General knowledge of Group Policy, Azure, and other directory services
  • Networking, including TCP / IP, ports, and services
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory
  • Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of IT environment and architecture in a Windows and Mac environment
  • Printers / Printing methodologies and technologies a plus
