SURGICAL TECHNICIAN, OPERATING ROOM

Overview :

Saint Joseph East is a 217-bed full-service community hospital located in the rapidly growing southeastern section of Lexington Kentucky.

Responsibilities :

As our Surgical Tech , youll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We cant operate without you.

The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient.

Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

• Prepare the operating room for assigned surgical procedures with proper instrumentation and sterilization
• Navigate the nuances of surgical procedures and surgeons youll be supporting
• Adapt to the needs of emergency situations
• Provide clean-up and turnover of operating room to prepare for next patient

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education for Staff Job Levels : Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program

Required Licensure and Certifications : Certified surgical technologist (CST), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail. Experience with

varied high tech surgical equipment.

PREFERRED Qualifications : One year perioperative services experience preferred
