Reconstruction Estimators work with property owners, adjusters, and other stakeholders after traumatic events such as a fire or flood to clean up and repair damage to residential and commercial property.
As a reconstruction estimator you will accurately scope projects and write estimates per guidelines. You will build relationships with insurance professionals and communicate with property owners the expectations to build the structure back to its original form.

Reconstruction Estimating
- Provide a detailed scope of loss and estimate on constructions projects and property insurance losses.
- Prepare, negotiate, record, communicate and secure approval on the scope of the project with appropriate stakeholders.
- Meets all estimating timelines required by PDR, TPA’s, and insurance providers.
- Meets or exceeds RMS scoring metrics.
- Write and manage supplements and change orders as required.
- Follow insurance trends in claims and adjusting losses.
Customer Focused
- Builds and maintains relationships with insurance adjusters, TPA’s, property managers, and other target audiences.
- Assists the Project Managers in developing a vendor network of skilled trades to promote quality workmanship.
Financial Stewardship
- Creates Work Orders for Project Managers to follow during the repair process.
- Meets or exceeds assigned annual revenue target.
- Coordinates financials for assigned projects as required to include invoices, draws, and final payments.
- Notify accounting of invoicing and provide accurate information for source of payment.
- Assist the accounting department in collections on an as needed basis.
- Follow up with adjusters to facilitate conclusion of file.
Data Management
- Maintains thorough / accurate records for all assigned projects.
- Manages all data systems to include XA, Symbility, and RMS for all assigned projects per processes.
Communication
- Keep customers and insurance companies up to date with current estimating timelines and completion.
- Collaborate with Project Manager on all reconstruction jobs.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in reconstruction estimating is preferred.
- Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability.
- Level 1 Xactimate preferred.
- Experience in Symbility estimating software is preferred.
- Understanding of Nextgear / CoreLogic RMS is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret insurance policies.
- Experience working with insurance TPAs.
- Ability to interpret SLA agreements.
- Ability to produce estimates with limited revisions.
Education and Certifications
- Xactimate 1 Certification
- Symbility Certification
- BS in Accounting, Project Management, Risk Management and Insurance, or similar is preferrable.
