Description
Avance Cabinetry delivers quality materials and pristine finishes for cabinetry that is functional & purposeful utilizing an advanced manufacturing process for efficiency and traditional woodworking methods for stability and craftsmanship.
We are looking for a Cabinet Hand Sprayer to join our manufacturing team! The Cabinet Hand Sprayer is responsible for applying finish coatings to wood cabinetry and other wood products.
This role requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of various spraying techniques and materials.
Key Responsibilities :
- Preparation :
- Inspect sanded parts for the quality before paint application
- Mix and prepare coatings according to specifications and product guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination.
- Application :
- Apply primers, stains, sealers, and topcoats using HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) sprayers, airless sprayers, or other spray equipment.
- Ensure even and consistent coverage, free of runs, sags, or other defects.
- Monitor and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation and finish quality.
- Quality Control :
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
- QC sanded surfaces between coats as necessary to achieve a smooth finish.
- Make corrections or touch-ups to achieve the desired finish quality.
- Equipment Maintenance :
- Clean and maintain spray equipment, including guns, hoses, and compressors.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on spray equipment.
- Keep inventory of coatings, solvents, and other supplies, and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
- Safety :
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and eye protection.
- Ensure proper ventilation and handle hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to management immediately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with wood finishing and spray application techniques.
- Knowledge of different types of coatings and their application processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle materials and equipment.
Preferred Skills :
- Certification in spray finishing or related field.
- Experience with custom cabinetry or high-end woodwork.
- Familiarity with color matching and custom stain mixing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment :
- The work is typically performed in a workshop or production facility.
- Exposure to chemicals, dust, and fumes is common, necessitating the use of PPE.
- The role may require lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Specific duties and requirements may vary based on the employer and the production workload. Candidates must be willing to work in other departments in the warehouse as needed.
Schedule :
- Monday to Friday, 7 : 00am to 3 : 30pm
- Overtime when needed
