The Production Planner is responsible for the effective utilization and planning of Production orders and Customer fulfillment planning for production work orders in the IEWC Infrastructure / Cablcon division.
This position needs to maintain capacity plans for the branches and the services they offer and align Customer orders, inventory, and other resources to ensure a high level of customer service.
This involves strategic planning as well as day-to-day monitoring and problem solving, and monitoring process indicators and reporting.
What you will do : Production Planning
Production Planning
- Maintain a production schedule that includes branch capacity and utilization, hours, and output.
- Gain and maintain expertise in Rubicon relevant to Planning, Production, and Materials Management.
- Good understanding of all products offered by Cablcon and labor capacity by plant, by shift and by product type.
- Working knowledge of our outsource partner’s build capabilities and capacity.
- Prioritize customer orders as needed based on dates, demand, material, and capacity.
- Prioritize and determine when material is to be built by U.S. Infrastructure team, MX Infrastructure team or utilize an outsource partner.
- Assist in ad-hoc / cross-functional projects requiring master data expertise.
Sales and Operations Planning
- Serve as the lead liaison between Sales, Materials Management, Sourcing and Production Management to optimize Production Efficiency, Customer Service, and Inventory.
- Conduct formal and informal meetings with Sales, Manufacturing Engineering, Customer Service, Materials Management, Sourcing, and Production Management to track capacity utilization on a regular cadence and solve hotspots in capacity or customer service as they arise.
- Assist in the maintenance and data mining of information used to support the operational forecasting and planning processes.
Review forecasts, sales trends and inventory strategies to support the daily activities.
Update dashboards for hours capacity, termination capacity, lead time by branch.
Supply Chain Planning
- Lead and / or participate in projects to implement improvements in customer service, inventory investment and supply chain efficiency to achieve measurable results.
- Assist in the maintenance and data mining of information used to support the operational forecasting and planning processes.
Review forecasts, sales trends and inventory strategies to support the daily activities of the Materials Management team.
Support identification, analysis, and implementation of master data reporting and monitor data quality.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Rubicon MRP, Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications.
Proficient in MS Access and Excel
