Hunter High School CTE Business Teacher and Freshman Success (1.0 FTE) This position is for a Business teacher at Hunter High School for the 2024-25 school year.

Required Certification
Requires one of the following :
- a valid Professional Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements : Business & Marketing (CTE / General), Business & Marketing L1 Info Management or Business & Marketing L2 Info Management; OR
- a valid Associate Educator License issued by the Utah State Board of Education with a Secondary or CTE License Area of Concentration with one of the following endorsements : Business & Marketing (CTE / General), Business & Marketing L1 Info Management or Business & Marketing L2 Info Management; OR
- an equivalent license and endorsement in another state; OR
- a related bachelor’s degree completed in the last five (5) years from a regionally accredited college or university such as business management, business administration, business, computer science or business information systems with specific coursework in the following areas that can be verified on a college transcript : computer science, computer / digital literacy, spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, and digital marketing (the listed areas can be verified with a college transcript or industry certifications); OR
- a related bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university such as business management, business administration, business, computer science or business information systems AND have six (6) years of documented, related, full-time occupational experience (not teaching experience) within the ten (10) years prior to application’ OR
- hold current industry certifications in all of the following areas : Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and an IC3 certificate AND be willing to complete one additional certification in computer science or a web language (e.
g HTML5, Java Script, CSS, Python, or C++) additional certifications and courses may be required and will need to be completed within 3 years of hire.
New teacher education program graduates who have not received their teaching license yet may upload a conferral letter from their university education program in lieu of their license.
This letter must include the anticipated date of graduation and the specific areas in which the applicant will be licensed.
The following qualifications are preferred :
- ESL endorsement; and
- interest in supporting extra-curricular activities
- willingness to run a CTSO (FBLA)

Job Summary

Essential Functions
- Teach the core content area(s) outlined in the USBE’s Core Curriculum, and adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other approved learning activities.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the child.
- Utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
- Supervision of students requires both indoor and outdoor responsibilities (e.g. recess duty, gymnasium activities, etc.
in all types of weather and air quality.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom through organization and appropriate discipline strategies.
- Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Be familiar with and willing to implement Proficiency-Based Learning in evaluating students.
