Babysitter/Nanny

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible overnight Mon-thurs nights around 8pm - 8am Nanny to provide exceptional care for our young adult with Down syndrome of reaching her goals of healthy, happy independent living in a nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of her while engaging her in educational and fun activities.

This role requires a proactive individual who can manage daily routines, meal preparation to pack her lunch for work and ensure she eats a healthy breakfast after helping her get ready for work / daily activities and maintain a clean environment.

Punctual person who Ensures she gets to bed on time, wakes up, showers, dresses on time and her meds on time

Duties

• Supervise and engage with her in age-appropriate activities, including playtime, educational games, and outdoor activities.
• Provide attentive care, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to specific dietary guidelines and preferences. Follows instructions / notes and takes good notes for feedback.

Does not bring any foods / drinks into her home that she cannot eat

• Assist with homework and educational activities to promote learning and development. Help her prepare for her job teaching cardio dance classes and doing them with her, helping her prepare her song playlists etc
• Maintain a clean and organized space for her, including tidying up after meals and playtime.
• Administer medicine, first aid when necessary and ensure that all safety protocols are followed. Certified Med Tech (CMT) or willing to complete the 20 hours of paid training
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, milestones, and any concerns that may arise.

Experience

• Proven experience in childcare, special needs or caregiving roles is preferred.
• must be first aid and CPR certified with good driving record
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and always provide 1on 1 supervision of her at all times
• A genuine passion for working with young adult female with special needs to ensure their ongoing independent living growth through education and fun activities to reach independent living goals
• Non-smoker, health and fitness conscious with ability to take pics, notes / track of all exercise and foods eaten And not bring in any foods / drinks she is not allowed to have into the home
