Why this job matters :
Assist in developing policy positionson healthcare and health insurance coverage issues facing Rhode Islanders. Explore and research public policy, media, legal, healthcare, and legislative sources.
Write position statements, talking points, memos, and letters.
What you will do :
- Perform research on various policies, proposals, and topics by gathering information through on-line sources and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collect, record, analyze, and evaluate data and information.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials.
- Complete special projects, tasks, and assignments under general direction.
- Participating in team meetings.
What you need to succeed :
- Complete at least two years of college and working towards degree
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to collect and organize data
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to meet established time and quality standards
Extras :
- Bachelor’s degree or matriculating status from four-year college or university
- Evidence an interest in policy and research
Location :
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work / life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role :
- In-office : onsite 5 days per week
- Hybrid : onsite 2-4 days per week
- Remote : onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department : Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Virginia.
