The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by :
- Actively supporting EHS improvements
- Lead value stream improvement projects
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, service, and cost
- Support rapid resolution of customer complaints, including timely response, and implementation and communication of corrective actions
- Provide daily production support and troubleshooting for assigned products and manufacturing operations, including occasional availability on nights and weekends as needed
- Leading efforts on scale-up of new products and work on cross-functional teams
- Improve manufacturing operations using continuous improvement and project management tools
- Maintain, track, and report on unit / static costs and variances for assigned products
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or other manufacturing STEM degree (completed and verified prior to start)
- One (1) year experience in Product, Process, Quality, and / or Manufacturing Engineering in a private, public, government or military environment (internships included)
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
- Proficiency in the use of statistical tools and data analysis in problem solving
- Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies to manufacturing
- Leadership with driving quality improvement and cost reduction projects
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
Work location : On-site Hutchinson, MN
Travel : May include up to 5% domestic / international
