Essential Functions :
- Engage hands-on with diverse assembly and testing equipment, focusing on electro-mechanical assembly and functional testing.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for functional discrepancies.
- Analyze customer field data to identify trends and potential issues.
- Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble electromechanical components and assemblies for customer return.
- Configure hardware and software components following installation.
- Communicate real-time data to the Assembly Operations and Engineering teams to facilitate process and design improvements.
- Assist customers in upgrading equipment at various field locations.
- Document field installations and repairs thoroughly.
- Maintain tools and equipment used during service calls and in the local lab.
- Manage administrative tasks, including ordering repair parts and lab / office supplies.
- Educate customers on effective diagnosis techniques.
Competencies :
- Proven experience in collaborating with both internal teams and external customers within a solution-oriented service framework.
- Proficient in soldering per IPC-610 standards, wiring, crimping, and operating hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with common diagnostic equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and power supplies.
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with robotic control systems and programming is a plus.
- General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable of working creatively and independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands : The physical requirements for this position include :
- Visual acuity (with correction) for reading directions, drawings, and inspecting electromechanical parts.
- Manual dexterity for conducting precision work.
- Ability to frequently stoop, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and lift.
- Frequent movement, including sitting, standing, talking, and reaching with hands / arms.
- Occasional lifting and / or moving of items up to 50 pounds.
Required Education and Experience :
Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required;
an advanced degree is a plus. Candidates with military or veteran experience in electro-mechanical roles, HVAC / Cable Internet technicians, electricians, automotive mechanics, or similar backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and / or electronic equipment.
- Familiarity with CAN, CAN-Open, PLC logic, Copley Controls, and Python scripting; experience with EtherCAT is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and appropriate insurance coverage.
